T.N. Srinivasan

T. N. Srinivasan holds a doctorate degree in Economics from Yale University where he is now the Samuel C. Park, Jr. Professor of Economics. Formerly a Professor, and later Research Professor, at the Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi (1964-1977), he has taught at numerous universities in the US. His research interests include International Trade, Development, Agricultural Economics and Microeconomic Theory.

He recently authored “Re-integrating India with the World Economy” with Suresh D. Tendulkar (Washington: Institute for International Economics, 2003) and edited Trade, Finance and Investment in South Asia (New Delhi: Social Science Press, 2001).

He is a Fellow of the American Philosophical Society, the Econometric Society, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a distinguished fellow of American Economic Association and a Foreign Associate of the National Academy of Sciences.

Mr. Srinivasan’s education includes: a B.A. (with Honors) in Mathematics, 1953, converted to M. A. (Mathematics), University of Madras, India, 1954. A two-year Professional Training in Statistics, Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, 1953-55, and an M.A. (Economics) from Yale University, 1958 and Ph.D. (Economics) from Yale University, 1962.
