Mr. Raman presently serves as Director, Institute for Topical Studies, Chennai and Distinguished Fellow and Convener, Observer Research Foundation (ORF), Chennai Chapter. He is a columnist on national security matters and the author of two books: Intelligence - Past, Present & Future and The Terrorist State as a Frontline Ally. Mr. Raman is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the "Indian Defense Review," a quarterly published in New Delhi. Mr. Raman has served as an Additional Secretary; Cabinet Secretariat (1968-94) Government of India, New Delhi; member of the Special Task Force (2000) of the Government of India for revamping the intelligence apparatus; and as member of the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) (2000-2002) of the Government of India.
